Phenomenon: one word describes this multitalented musician, rapper, vocalist, producer, composer, DJ, mix engineer and visionary. Born and raised in Flint, Michigan, while developing a love for music in his parents' church, Joe Ryan III is a husband, father and faith-filled visionary who is undoubtedly bringing a fresh and authentic perspective of what the modern christian walk is all about; Purpose Over Perfection. Living by the statements "100% Faith. 0% Doubt" and "My backup plan is to never backdown, his journey began after making the pivotal decision to leave a college basketball scholarship of which he earned after being a member of the Junior National Olympic All-State/All-American team representing Michigan as a highschool junior. He intially gained recognition as a Recording Artist by winning Milwaukee's 103.7FM 2 month "Kiss Icon Contest" of over 600 Artists while homeless, earning him daily rotation and a performance at SummerFest, which has been certified since 1999 by the Guiness World Records as "The World's Largest Music Festival". A neighboring City Official noticed the absence of vulger language, degredation of women, or the praise of drugs after reading a front page article which described Joe's victory, as well as his compelling story of living out of his Ford Mustang and salvation army while fighting to be present in his twin sons' lives and contacted him to present an opportunity to work with at-risk youth. Joe accepted the offer and developed a Music Mentoring ciriculum and program under his company BedRoc Productions, which offered kids an outlet of expression through learning therapeutic songwriting, production, engineering and performance. The program became so impactful throughout the city that two highschools gave Joe his own class. Noticing a tweet by Hip Hop Legend MC Lyte expressing the search for new producers, he submitted music and earned a composer contract with DuBose Entertainment, where MC Lyte was lead music supervisor. The signing and hardwork landed music placements on B.E.T.' Network docu-series "Trey Songz: My Moment" and shortly after he flew to Hollywood, CA for the first time to showcase his ability to score and compose original music rapidly on the spot. CEO James DuBose was so impressed that he gave his newest show "Toya; A Family Affair" entirely to Joe, which included 16 episodes and theme song, denying the other 30 composers on staff the opportunity to submit music. Joe went on to compose music for ESPN, Telepicture's and even became Music Supervisor/Composer for B.E.T.'s "Hip Hop Sisters". After a successful composing run, he began building his resume as an artist again, landing opportunities of rapping on The Discovery Channel and TechCrunch via online platform "YouNow" after winning thousands of dollars in contest earnings. Shortly after, he made the decision to drive 1,879 miles to Hollywood, CA and yet again live out of his Mustang. The leap of faith earned Joe songwriting/production/engineering work with Heavy D, The Ying Yang Twins, MC Lyte, Ledisi, KEM, Teyana Taylor, Fabolous and Leela James, of which her hit single "Fall For You" earned him a publishing deal with Sony BMG, after then Vice-President heard the song sang on the finale of "Dancing With The Stars". While acquiring placements, Joe produced, wrote, recorded & mixed his independent release "1-8-7-9", which was coined an adjective that is symbolic of the distance traveled to reach destiny. The album went #28 on the US iTunes R&B Charts and earned an exclusive licensing deal with Japan record label "Manhattan Recordings". The single "Ride Or Die" featuring Recording Artist/Actress Lil Mama jumped to #5 on Japan music charts over John Legend's "All Of Me" and Robin Thicke/Pharrell/T.I.'s "Blurred Lines". Japan music stores would then introduce "Joe Ryan 1879 Listen First Kiosks" that would not only showcase his album but also the releases of Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, August Alsina, Eric Bellinger, Eric Benet & more. The Japan-charting record "All I Want Is You" from the album is also currently being used on Cartoon Network's "Teen Titans Go!". After 1879, with the help of veteran producer Rex Rideout, Joe gained the attention of RCA Records Sr VP/GM of Radio Promotion Geo Bivins, which led to a record-deal of which his major label debut single to be released in April of this year and album to be released in the fall is projected to open a new lane of music for the purpose of winning souls to Christ, through transparent truth.
