San Diego born guitarist/singer/songwriter David Thomson, formed the late/great Tokyo Burlesque in 1988. The band was based in L.A. until its disbanding in 1994, following their final show at the Whiskey a Go-Go on the “fabulous” Sunset Strip a mere 2 days after the notorious Northridge earthquake! In 1999, along with the bass player (Martyn Evans) and drummer from Tokyo Burlesque, David formed The Pike Bishops! After a 12 year run, and following the addition of singer/songwriter/rhythm guitarist Holly Ransom, The Pike Bishops have now become… Snakeoil Burlesque! The all-original music of Snakeoil Burlesque is influenced by the likes of Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Beat Farmers, The Who, X, The Pretenders, Wall of Voodoo, Pink Floyd, The Plimsouls, Dick Dale, as well as film score master – Ennio Morricone. This combined hodge-podge of sounds when mixed, creates the musical force now known as…Snakeoil Burlesque!
