From the rollicking riffs of Big Daddy Kenny Williams guitar to the powerful vocals of Lexi G, Papermoon Gypsys is a fired up, energizing presence who pulls earthy music from its roots and breathes fresh, soulful, rock and roll life into them. Based out of Dana Point, CA, Papermoon Gypsys features Kenny "Big Daddy" Williams who fronts the hot Orange County band along with his daughter Lexi G. Since June of 2013 they have secured performances for the first Newport Beach Pop-Up Blues Festival, the Dana Point Food, Wine & Beer Craft Festival, the Real Blues Festival of Orange County, Woodystock and the main stage at the 3rd Annual New Blues Festival. Papermoon Gypsys will give you a big dose of Blues at it's core and a wild side of Rock and Roots added to create their own unique blend.Kenny started playing at age 7 and went on to learn theory with jazz guitarist Mark Anthony. Kenny also studied a year with classical guitarist Roberto Torres. Later, before she was famous, he studied tapping with Jennifer Batten (Michael Jackson) and before touring with country band, Big Sky, studied with telecaster maniac, Will Ray (Hellacastors).During the 80′s Kenny made a name for himself on the Sunset Strip with heavy metal band, Defiant and had his song “Nightstalker” played on local radio KNAC. It was on solid rotation at hundreds of college stations around the country which put him in the encyclopedia Metellum also earned a degree in sound and video engineering. He attended at the Institute of Audio/Video Engineering.These days he has succeeded in bringing a whole music scene to beach town Dana Point, with the city’s first music store and school. Even though there have been imitations, Kenny has tried to bring the quality of LA musicianship to Orange county. He has sought out the best of the best musicians and teachers to bring a quality of education that can’t be surpassed.Kenny currently is the leader of the Papermoon Gypsys, in which he plays guitar. The band has been taking the southern California area by storm. Albert Margolis-keyboards Albert started playing music at age 5. By age nine he was writing songs on both guitar and piano, and quickly formed his first of many bands the “Roaring Lions”. Albert continued to write and perform his music and eventually earned a Bachelor of Science in Music Theory and Composition and an MBA. He’s worked with artists such as Peter Gabriel, Ivan Neville (Rolling Stones/Neville Bros.), Daniel Lanios (U2, etc), Cyril Neville (Neville Bros), Randy Bachman (BTO/Guess Who), Leo Nocentelli & Zigaboo Modeleste (The Meters), Bernie Worrell (Parliament Funkadelic), George Duke (Frank Zappa), Johnny Vatos & John Avila (Oingo Boingo), Doug Wimbish & Will Calhoun (Living Colour), Stanton Moore (Galactc), Richard Street (The Temptations), Oteil Burbridge (The Allman Brothers) just to name a few. Albert also can be seen sharing his rock and roll keyboard techniques on numerous instructional keyboard DVD's he's created for the House of Blues, Casio and Rock House. TONY “T-BIRD” ROBIN BASS / VOCALS Tony began his life long love of music as a drummer at age 7. Tony’s early introduction to music was through his father who was an accomplished crooner styled vocalist. His first exposure to music was mostly Jazz and R&B from his father’s record collection. By age 8 his parents had already outfitted him with a whole room full of musical instruments, PA, and recording equipment to develop, and express his musical talents. Although Tony had some formal music training, he is known for possessing a exceptional ear and intuition for all styles of music. At age 10 he was performing around town with a 4-piece original band with his younger brother and another set of brothers. The young band was a special featured act with a local touring variety show. By age 13, Tony was asked to join another local band of high school age musicians and performed with them as drummer and vocalist for two years. By age 15 Tony began acquiring his own tastes for music and started his own band while also developing his skill on both bass guitar and keyboards. In his own words, Tony is known for his mantra, “it’s the feel that’s real, not just always just what’s on the chart.” Tony switched to bass guitar and lead vocals after a band he formed brought in another drummer to free him up to front the band. Tony eventually moved to Orange County in the early 1980’s and began playing music full time throughout the 80’s & 90’s in several local bands as well as one of his original bands, “Radieux”. Who, performed with various acts such as, Chris Issac and, Three Dog Night. Ironically, Tony’s passion and knowledge for the music of Three Dog Night led him to create “Joy To The World” a premiere look alike, sound alike, tribute to Three Dog Night. Currently, Tony plays frequently with several local acts including, the Tricia Freeman Band, and his own band, T-Bird & The Flock. When Tony is not performing or recording with the other local acts that he performs with, Tony also works as an accomplished live sound engineer and provides these skills to keep the bands and projects he is involved with sounding their best. RAY WESTON DRUMS Ray was a longtime member of Wishbone Ash and joined the house bands for Viva Cabaret with Tom Jones. He returned to Wishbone Ash in 1997 – 2007. In 2010 Ray toured 14 countries with Iron Butterfly.
