JOINT COMMITTEE is a Southern California reggae/rock band that came together to play one show. Jeremiah Rich and Adam Gerhard from the Orange County reggae band, The Badfooters assembled the band to play a sold out show with Grammy Award winners, Steel Pulse while The Badfooters were in "re-group" status. Following the show, the response was such that Kevin Lyons(drums), and LaVerne Loranger(keys) all became members of Joint Committee and the band was made official in January 2012. Shortly after the Steel Pulse show, they kicked off their first "official" live performance opening up for reggae legends the Wailers and have since opened up for Grammy Award winners Toots and the Maytals, Black Uhuru, Third World, Shaggy, English Beat, Midnite, Big Mountain, Pato Banton, Natty Vibes, Fortunate Youth, Don Carlos, J Boog, Sashamon, The Untouchables, Anuhea, Kiefer Sutherland, The Mother Hips, Dennis Quaid, Common Sense and many others. They released their first album, California Sky, in 2013. In February 2014, the band signed with Wright Records/Sony Orchard and released their first label-backed album entitled, Break Free in December 2014.
