Big Bad Rooster is a high-energy Bluegrass band from Long Beach, CA. Their sound features a mix of bluegrass, folk, and old-time - the perfect accompaniment for dance and drinks. From their heartfelt, foot-stomping originals to the most recognizable bluegrass and old-time favorites, BBR joins well-stocked tradition with distinctive artistry. BBR’s sensational musicianship, robust harmonies, and savvy lyricism are the product of over 70 years combined musical experience - Camilo Barahona on fiddle and vocals, brother Silvio Barahona on 5-string banjo and vocals, & songwriter Michael Solan on lead vocals and guitar, supported by Tristan Cole-Falek on upright bass. As Big Bad Rooster, the quartet has performed all over Southern California, and has been billed alongside such notable acts as Willie Watson (Old Crow Medicine Show) and Frank Fairfield (Jack White’s Third Man Records), Chuck Ragan, The White Buffalo, and The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. Following up their 2015 demo, "I Do Not Give a Damn," the band released their debut full-length self-titled album, "Big Bad Rooster," on June 10, 2017.
