Voodoo Train is a rockabilly/roots rock influenced trio from Southern California. However, VT is not your typical LA rockabilly nostalgia act that is trying to recreate sounds and look of the 1950's. There are many bands out there that do this and do it well. VT's mission is to create something more original and exciting rather than regurgitate a Sun Records or That'll Flat Get It rockabilly compilation. However, VT are true fans and more importantly, students, of the old rockabilly standards and obscure tracks and you never know what cover song will end up in a setlist. VT's original music and their personal spin on cover songs is their strong point and we can only hope they deliver a full length CD soon. Self-penned songs like "Better Off Alone", "Tragic", "Trouble In My Heart" are songs for the romantically disillusioned while the CCR-influenced rocker "Frontline" is about the illusions we have about America and while there are frontlines in Iraq and Afghanistan, the real frontline is the one we're living on everyday in the USA. Voodoo Train's wheels will be rolling through your town...so get on board!
