SIP is a two piece band playing live and performing around southern Oregon since 2012. They were in the Last Band standing competition in 2013 where they came in the top 6 of 25+ local bands, when very few had ever even heard them play.
Tim Keller, local Chef of such restaurants as The Jacksonville Inn (where he cooked for past presidents, and many Britt performers), The Carriage House, The Firefly (Started by Tim, and his wife Dana in Ashland in the late 90’s), and most recently Dancin Vineyards in Jacksonville; is the guitar player and Lead singer of SIP! He has raised two very smart kids, and continues to thrive and help our local Music, and Culinary scene.
Benjamin Blue Abben, is a local entertainer who along with the band also does Standup Comedy (competing in Oregon’s Last Comic standing) doing shows all over the valley. He plays the drums like no other drummer around. He is also the Owner of New Napa Wine Co. in Grants Pass, Or. And holds a full time job (10 yrs.) as an Audio Engineer at Blackstone Audio Inc. in Ashland Or.
Ben and Tim have been playing music together for over 10 years. They have played over 100 shows in the Valley since 2012 from local bars to Wineries, Benefits (Ethan Jostad foundation, and the Maslow Project), and even the Medford skate park twice for a benefit concert to help raise money for a local skater Matt Hankey who was paralyzed. They mostly play original songs with styles varying from Blues, Grunge, and good ol’ Rock n Roll. Some covers they play that go along with their style include such Artists as The White Stripes, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, and Nirvana. With over 50+ songs from their own library they can easily fill over three hours on stage.
