"Southern Acoustic Guitar Swagger"

Travis Oliver is a well seasoned acoustic guitarist, singer and songwriter that specializes in flatpicking guitar and roots music.  Currently based in San Diego, Ca, he was raised between the Mountains and Swamps throughout the Southeastern U.S. taking in musical influences along the way from the likes of Doc Watson, Tony Rice, The Allman Brothers, Jimi Hendrix and Phish. He began learning the art of acoustic roots music at an early age and spent many years honing his musical voice and style.  As a 10th generation Appalachian, he comes from families rich in musical heritage like his cousin and International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame inductee Arthur Lee “Red” Smiley.

Travis’ performances strategically balance fiery guitar picking, tone filled melodies, heart felt ballads and witty song selections to entertain the listener and keep them wondering what will come next.  He arranged and produced his first two releases both of which are currently available at all digital music outlets.  The first, titled “The John Olivers - Herringbones,” was released in November of 2015 and features his father and the two guitars he learned the craft with.  The second, a self titled EP with his band Guiro Grass, was released in July of 2016.  Guiro Grass is an acoustic duo consisting of flatpicking guitar and guiro(pr: wee-doh) that combines bluegrass and folk with latin grooves from Puerto Rico and Cuba.

Travis is currently working on writing new music for his next release as well as furthering his musical education and flatpicking style refinement with world renowned and Grammy award winning guitarist Bryan Sutton at the Artist Works music academy.
